Developing successful leadership qualities can translate into a competitive advantage in today’s workplace environment. Join the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) on September 10 as keynote speaker Chris Gent, APR, CPRC explores the five must-have traits for rising leaders. The public is welcome to attend the event held at the Daytona Beach International Airport, Volusia Room, 700 Catalina Drive at 11:30 a.m.
Gent is Vice President of Corporate Communications for Kissimmee Utility Authority and FPRA State President. He was named FPRA’s Central Florida’s Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2010 and his work has garnered numerous local, state and national communication awards. “It’s important for every public relations practitioner to understand what it takes to excel in leadership roles,” said Kent Donahue, FPRA Volusia/Flagler Chapter president. “We are delighted to have one of Florida’s leading authorities on public relations to give us tips that will help hone our skills. We are also fortunate to have our state president install our new board.”
Members and non-members can support the chapter’s “Dress for Success” clothing drive that day, by donating clean, gently used business clothing and accessories to benefit the Daytona State College Center for Women and Men.
The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members and $18 for students.
