Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center & Florida Hospital Oceanside
The Florida Hospital Pink Army is on its fourth tour of duty this year! The Pink Army consists of 23,000 individuals across the state – including more than 8,000 in Volusia and Flagler counties. In this community engagement effort, Florida Hospital and our “soldiers” strive to create greater awareness about the life-saving benefits of annual mammograms and early detection, all while having a great time.
When you enlist in the Pink Army, you receive your own army ID and dog tags. You’ll have the opportunity to move up the ranks by completing missions, such as scheduling your mammogram, attending an event, and recruiting additional soldiers. As you complete missions and move your way up, you’ll be rewarded with a variety of Pink Army-themed prizes. You don’t have to complete missions in any order. You simply complete a mission and receive the reward associated with that mission.
Another way to move up the Pink Army ranks is by hosting or attending a Pink Party – such as the FPRA Pink Army-themed meeting on Oct. 8, where Florida Hospital will provide educational materials and pink giveaways for all attendees. Please come out to the Oct. 8 meeting, wear your pink and show your pink spirit! If you like what you see, you can host a Pink Party of your own and move up the army ranks!
Besides raising awareness and encouraging cancer screenings, the Pink Army is also committed to bringing hope and healing to women in need. Donations made to the Pink Army go towards providing screenings and cancer treatment for underserved and uninsured women in our community. A donation of $99 provides a mammogram for one woman in need, but any amount helps! All funds stay in Volusia County, and donations are tax deductible.
This October, please “Wave Your Pink Flag” with Florida Hospital in the fight against breast cancer. Visit JoinThePinkArmy.com to enlist, schedule a mammogram, donate a mammogram to a woman in need, and see our list of upcoming events.
