Join FPRA Volusia/Flagler Chapter Tuesday, May 12, as we hear from Alyson Lundell, director of corporate communications at Universal Orlando Resort, as she discusses the global communication strategies surrounding The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Hogsmeade (open in 2010) and Diagon Alley (open in 2014).
During this presentation, Lundell will share insight into the challenges and opportunities they embraced when presented this incredible public relations opportunity for a second time.
Lundell’s role with Universal Orlando has involved attraction openings including TRANSFORMERS: The Ride – 3D and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, followed by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. She is also responsible for overseeing publicity efforts around Universal’s annual events, including Mardi Gras and Halloween Horror Nights.
The opening of Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure was a once-in-a-lifetime global communication initiative that garnered unprecedented media coverage. But Universal Orlando never realized that lightning was about to strike twice with the expansion of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida.
