You’ve heard about ROI, but what about ROR? “Return on Relationships” is the focus of the Jan. 24 luncheon meeting of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. Please RSVP here by Jan. 22.
Join your communications colleagues as we hear from Karen Smittle, APR, CPRC of Jacobs (formerly CH2M), Gainesville, about how careers and personal lives can be transformed by focusing on relationships, others’ needs, and the life-changing value of genuine connections.
Are you getting the best ROR possible? Smittle’s presentation, “The Value of Relationships,” will contain the takeaways professionals want to help deepen and strengthen the relationships that matter most.
Smittle is a senior technical writer/editor who leads project teams to develop and deliver the complex project documentation required by her clients. As a client deliverables manager, she oversees teams of communication professionals to manage and deliver these projects.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Florida in 1980, and has spent most of her career working with engineering consulting companies as a technical communicator. Before joining CH2M (now Jacobs) in 2000, Smittle owned a public relations company for four years and enjoyed working with both public and private sector clients.
Over her 35-year career, Smittle has discovered that relationships are the most valuable asset.
“Our jobs are so much more enjoyable when we take the time to cultivate the relationships that make it fun to go to work every day,” Smittle notes.
The luncheon meeting is open to public relations professionals, business people and the public and will be held at LPGA International, 1000 Champions Drive, Daytona Beach. Check-in and networking begin at 11:30 a.m., and the program starts at noon.
Please RSVP at least two days in advance. The cost, which includes lunch, is $20 for FPRA members, $25 for non-members and $18 for college students. Payment should be made online in advance; the cost is $5 more for members who pay at the door.
