The second annual Leadership Social for the FPRA Volusia-Flagler Chaper will be Saturday, April 7 and members are encouraged to reserve their spot early.
This event, which is open to all members of the chapter and their spouses, drew considerable numbers last year and is expected to do the same this year.
“FPRA Statewide Past President Roger Pynn, APR, CPRC, and his wife Shelley, have again graciously invited us to a social at their weekend home in Ponce Inlet,” explained Jeanette Duerr, APR, president of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter. “Those who attend will gain a deeper appreiciation of our chapter’s leadership and experience breathtaking views of the inlet. It is truly an exceptional event.”
Pynn founded his company, Curley & Penn, in 1984, after working in a variety of public relations roles and as a reporter and bureau chief at the Orlando Sentinel. Throughout his remarkable career, he has earned several distictive awards, including the University of Central Florida Distinguished Alumnus Award, Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award and Alumni Distinguished Service Award, as well as FPRA’s highest honor, the John W. Dillin Award.
The chapter is now putting together its Leadership Team for the 2017-2018 program year and this event is an opportunity to learn more about serving on a committee or as a director or an officer of FPRA Volusia/Flagler.
“Serving on the board or a committee is an excellent way to develop your leadership skills and gain invaluable experience,” added Duerr.
The social begins at 6 p.m. and is open only to FPRA Volusia/Flagler Chapter members and their spouses. There is no cost to attend the social. Dinner will have an Italian theme with pasta and pizza as the main entrees.
Please RSVP by Monday, April 2, to immediate past president/vice president of Finance, Cindi Lane, APR, at 386-214-4729 (text or call).
