Dec. 6 Breakfast Meeting: Using Electronic Tools to Reach Target Audience

“Innovative Communications: Using Electronic Tools to Reach your Audience” is the topic of the next meeting of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 6. The speaker is FPRA Ocala Chapter member Devon Chestnut, APR, CPRC, communications manager for Cox Communications, a broadband communications and entertainment company.

This will be a special breakfast meeting, held at LPGA International. Check-in and networking begin at 8 a.m., and the program starts at 8:30 a.m. Attendees will also have the option of sitting for a new headshot portrait with a professional photographer.

If you are looking for effective ways to reach your audience, whether in-person or remotely, or you’re having trouble quantifying the effectiveness of your communication, this presentation is for you! Learn about new and innovative tools to effectively communicate with your audiences – especially in the mobile environment we live in.

The presentation by Chestnut will highlight electronic tools you can use to develop and deploy newsletters, infographics, presentations, videos and much more. Walk away with ideas on how you can develop or enhance your communication tactics. Chestnut manages Cox’s Southeast Region internal communications for an employee base of 1,900, working in Florida, Georgia and Louisiana. She plays a pivotal role in several national company projects and initiatives and supports the region’s community outreach efforts for Cox’s Ocala market.

A native of Ocala, Florida, Chestnut holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2012 and Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC) credential in 2016. She serves on several boards such as PACE Center for Girls, Leadership Ocala/Marion Board of Regents and as Vice President of Membership for FPRA’s State Executive Board. She is a graduate of Leadership Ocala/Marion Class 22 and Leadership Gainesville Class 37.

FPRA Volusia/Flagler’s luncheon meeting is open to public relations professionals, business people and the public and will be held at LPGA International, 1000 Champions Drive, Daytona Beach.

Attendees will also have the option of sitting for a new headshot portrait with a professional photographer. The setting fee for updated headshots on Dec. 6 is free for members who renewed by Oct. 31 AND attended the membership social; $10 for members who renewed by Oct. 31; $20 for members who renewed after the deadline; and $25 for non-Chapter members.

Please RSVP at least two days in advance. The cost, which includes a full breakfast, is $20 for FPRA members, $25 for non-members and $18 for college students. Payment should be made online in advance; the cost is $5 more if you pay at the door.
